Update –
Shortly after my earlier message was sent to families, sharing details of the incident that occurred yesterday after school with one of our students, we received some welcoming information that we’d like to share with you now.
It turns out that the man who approached our student yesterday was the grandfather of another student who attends our school and who was also at football practice yesterday after school. This grandfather mistook the boy for his grandson and did not mean to cause any concern or alarm.
You are encouraged to share this additional information with your child and we will follow up with our students tomorrow at school.
We are very thankful for this positive resolution and have appreciated this opportunity to review, and adhere to, our safe schools protocol with our staff, students and community partners. We would also like to thank our staff for their care in addressing the matter with our students, and to you, our parent community, for coming together in a time of need and share further information and details.
Enjoy the beautiful evening ahead!
