As you are aware, your child received their Progress Report in the fall.  Today, you are receiving the first-term report card which reports on your child’s achievement of the curriculum expectations for Term one. Term one spans from September 6, 2016 to February 3, 2017.  Please be aware that some strands of Mathematics and subjects in the Arts; Music or Visual Art, may not have been addressed this term because they are semestered. All strands and subjects will be covered over the course of the school year. Our Term 2 began on Monday, February 6.

We believe that interviews form a vital part of the on-going communication between home and school concerning the progress of our students.  Although there are three formal reporting periods, communication with parents and students about student  achievement should be continuous throughout the year by means such as parent-teacher or parent-student-teacher conferences, portfolios of student work, student-led conferences, interviews, phone calls, checklists, and informal reports. There is no professional activity day set aside to discuss the first term report card. If you have concerns about issues related to student learning, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher. As a reminder, the tear off slip on page 4 must be returned to the school by Friday, February 24, 2017 where it will be attached to the school’s copy of the provincial report card and filed in your child’s Ontario Student Record.

For all other information outside of the instructional day, please continue to consult our school website at mrg.wrdsb.on.ca or follow us on Twitter at: @mrgwrdsb on Instagram at: @margaretavesenior and/or subscribe to School Day for updates and announcements.
