Welcome Back, Everyone!
We are so happy to have everyone back feeling well rested and rejuvenated, ready to face the successes and challenges of 2017!
Please be reminded that our Grade 8 Graduation Photos are taking place tomorrow! Details were posted in December and can be found again here –> https://mrg.wrdsb.ca/2016/12/20/grade-8-graduation-photos-2/
We are already off to a great start with our clubs and extra curricular activities starting up right away!
Of note:
- The Tuck Shop is open daily and our Pizza Lunches will resume this Wednesday and Friday
- Girls Varsity Basketball Try Outs continue today from 3:00-4:30 PM
- Boys Varsity Basketball is up and running with practices scheduled for this week
- Grade 8 Band resumes tomorrow at second break
- Grade 7 Band begins! All interested grade 7 students have been encouraged to meet with Mr. Fehderau to receive further details this week
- Ski Club will begin shortly! Students are encouraged to attend a meeting scheduled for next week to receive all the information and permission forms to attend
In looking ahead, please be reminded that all grade 9 Magnet Program Applications are due on Monday, January 16, and our Guidance Counsellor, Mrs. Sherry Lawlor Alexander, has been facilitating this process. A parent information session will be held at the school in early February to share details for the Course Selection Process for all our students and their families. This process begins on February 21 and ends February 27.
We have a PD Day on Friday, January 27, which will allow our teachers to consolidate their Term One Assessment Data as we prepare for Term One Report Cards, which will be sent home on Friday, February 17.
Our next School Council Meeting is on Monday, February 6, at 6:30 PM here at the school and everyone continues to be welcomed to attend!
We are definitely back into the full swing of things here at Margaret Avenue! As always, should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher or one of us in the office.
On behalf of the staff here at Margaret Avenue we wish you all a very Happy New Year ahead filled with good health and happiness!
