Breast cancer is an issue very close to our hearts here at Margaret Avenue Senior Public School. At the moment two of our very special staff members are dealing with this illness as are some of the families in our school community and we would love to support them through their hard journey.

On Wednesday, April 22 we will be hosting a fundraiser consisting of a Silent Auction and Raffle and Talent Show. At this community based event, people will bid on items and the highest bid will win! The evening event will also highlight some of the many artistic, musical and hidden talents of our students to provide awesome entertainment. Snacks and drinks will be sold and all proceeds will go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

To make this event possible we need your help! We are asking for donations of new items that would appeal to a broad range of people including our amazing students. We welcome donations including event tickets, gift baskets, tools, gift cards, toys and household items. We will also accept cash donations made out to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and a tax receipt will be issued for amounts over $20. To show our gratitude, your contribution will be recognized on our school website. Thank you for making this event possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Breckles at 519-578-1910.

Sincerely,

Grade 8 Students

What a great example of positive student voice at Margaret Avenue!  In response to their strong desire to support staff members, Natalia and Evelyn pitched this idea and are working tirelessly to make this event a success.  We are very proud of their initiative and trust that you will do whatever you can to support them in this heartfelt endeavour.  We look forward to seeing you on April 22!
