Margaret Avenue Public School’s student nutrition for learning program feeds approximately 50 students, 5 days a week, throughout the school year. Thanks to a wonderful team of volunteers here at our school, students have easy access to healthy choices (from three food groups) whenever they feel that hunger moment.

Nancy Van Sligtenhorst, co-coordinator of Margaret Avenue’s student nutrition program, says that teachers see a remarkable change in attitude and concentration after students have a snack. Simply put: students learn better when they aren’t hungry. The program is very important to the students at this school — it truly helps them to be the best students they can be.

To ensure that we can continue to feed the students of Margaret Avenue until the end of the school year we need your financial support. Please support us in any way you can by giving a financial donation, of any size, to our ‘go-fund-me page’ found here –> https://www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/margaret-avenue-public-school/

Every penny makes a difference to us and to our students.

Thank you for your consideration and support of Nutrition for Learning here at Margaret Avenue!
