As we end this amazing school year here at Margaret Avenue, we would like to take this opportunity to extend a few farewells and a warm welcome as we look ahead to September 2014!

We would first like to extend a fond farewell to our grade 8 graduating students who are graduating! You have left your mark on Margaret Avenue and you will be missed as you head off to High School in September! We would also like to extend a warm welcome to all our grade six students who will be attending our school in September!

We also extend a fond farewell to Miss Deanna Martynowicz, Mlle Tanja Kilibarda, Mr. Ryan Dieter and Mr. Stephen Ross who have all been exemplary Occasional Teachers this school year. We would also like to extend warm farewell wishes to Mr. Michael Johnson, an Education Assistant, working with us this year.

Finally, it is with a heavy heart that we say farewell to Mr. Vince Graham, our Vice Principal, and my administrative partner. Mr. Graham has served our school and community for seven years and is now transferring to Wilson Avenue Public School. He will be deeply missed by the students and staff here at Margaret Avenue and we wish him success in his new school community.

With Mr. Graham’s farewell, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mrs. Rita Givlin. Mrs. Givlin is currently the Vice Principal at Wellesley Public School. She comes to our school with a wealth of experience and we look forward to getting to know her in the months and years to come.

To our Margaret Avenue Families, I would like to thank you for your partnership. This is evident in many forms, e.g., supporting our staff, helping your children at home, supporting the programs offered by the school and keeping informed via our website and social media communications. We have also appreciated seeing so many of you at Athletic Events, Band Performances and attending our School Council this past year!

To our Margaret Avenue Staff, I would like to publicly “Thank you” for a truly wonderful year.  You are a talented, hardworking, dedicated group of professionals who love kids and provide the very best learning opportunities for them each day.

I would like to take a moment to wish you and your family a very safe and happy summer and I look forward to seeing each of you on September 2, the first day of school or on September 4, at the Meet the Teacher evening!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Evelyn Giannopoulos

Principal
